Rehab Exercises in Chippewa Falls

Dr. Denn during rehab with a patientRehab is a gradual, step-by-step process that helps you recover following an injury. If you’re in a chronic state of discomfort or pain from a previous injury, accident, fall or other trauma, your body’s going to adapt to those injuries.

Even if you don’t have symptoms you might have a shoulder posture instability that’s going to cause the rest of your body to adapt and work harder than it normally does.

What a Rehab Program Includes

Though every patient’s rehab program will be customized to meet their specific needs, here are some approaches that we may take to help you heal:

Passive: For a minor injury, we would perform some passive rehab. Icing and stretching will be recommended. We also will provide some active muscle release to address the ligaments.

Active: Once you’re starting to feel better and get stronger, we will have you do some active rehab exercises. These may include some light exercise with weights. We also will provide you with exercises focused on posture.

We will also will have you sit on the physio ball and get back up. The purpose is to work on muscle coordination and balance. Our objective is to help you get stronger and not reinjure yourself.

Rehab exercises can help with the following:

  • Limit the extent of the injury
  • Address pain
  • Restore range of motion
  • Regain spinal alignment
